Spray Forming HSS
Because of inert gas atomization and rapid solidification of droplet deposition ,the spray formed HSS has low oxygen content , overall high density and fine microstrcture.

Spray forming technology is atomizing the molten metal or alloy in an inert atmosphere into small solid, semi-solid or liquid melt jet, then spraying directly onto the cold substrate surface, droplet deposition on the surface adhesion, accumulation, spreading, fusion, consolidation and the formation of deposited blank. Common grades of Spray Forming HSS include HSF630、HSF838、HSF835、HSF640、HSF758、HSF8610、HSF680 etc.At present more mature types of steel include HSF620, HSF835 and HSF680 .
The composition of HSF620 is similar to traditional M2, The tensile strength of Spray formed HSF620 with ultra-fast solidification increases by 25% than the traditional HSS ( ESR + forging ), and toughness increases by 70-100%. At present, HSF620 is used to make large cross-section broach.
HSF835 is a cobalt and high vanadium containing spray formed high speed steel of our own R&D. It is used as cutting tools and dies with excellent wear resistance and toughness.At present, it is used to make broach、hob、gear shaving cutter etc.
HSF680 is a high vanadium cobalt-free tool material with a V content of up to 8%. It has excellent wear resistance and red hardness. It is an ideal material for cutting tools for cutting non-metallic materials.
